We've compiled a list of some of the most effective and popular Creativity for Business books to help you explore Creativity even further.
Michalko, Michael. "Thinkertoys: A Handbook of Business Creativity." 2nd Ed. 2006
"This book is a watershed in Business Creativity. Compiling an exhaustive list of practical Creativity tools for both problem-solving and brainstorming, Michalko goes one step further by providing a myriad of concrete real-life examples of these tools at work. I'd also check out his ThinkPak brainstorming cards too. A Great Resource year after year!"
de Bono, Edward. "Six Thinking Hats." 1985
"Originally published in the early 1980s, nothing in this book has lost its edge. It will forever change the way you conduct meetings. You save time, you gain insight...all by getting everyone in the room to think in a certain direction all at the same time. 'Put on your Green Hats, I want to brainstorm this issue.' 'Put on your Red Hats, I want to hear your feelings on this.' Although not strictly a Creativity book, it puts to rest the critical voices that drown out original ideas."
De Bono, Edward. "Serious Creativity: Using the Power of Lateral Thinking to Create New Ideas. 1993
"Mr. De Bono is a legend in the field of Creativity having written 25 books on the subject. Although I've read maybe 10 of his books, some of his books seem to have been es across as a bit pompous. This book, however, is a gem. It explains the lateral thinking concept in an easier to digest form and pulls in other concepts that De Bono has created."
Godin, Seth. "Small is the New Big: and 183 Other Riffs, Rants, and Remarkable Business Ideas." 2006
"Godin is not strictly a Creativity guru, but I include him here as he has produced and shared some of the most amazing business ideas for free for years on his blog. This book is a great example of his reflective thought process which inspires similar reflection from his readers. And you can scoop a great idea or two for your own business. Plus, you have to love the ironic wit of someone who would title a marketing book--All Marketers are Liars."
Von Oech, Roger. "A Whack on the Side of the Head: How you can be more Creative." 1973 / 1992 / 2008 (Revised Ed)
"Von Oech's books are great for blending serious creativity with a lot of humor and fun. His ideas are classic and it's nice to see that he will be reissuing this book. Perhaps the most important thing you can take away from this book is how he has categorized the hidden "locks" that keep people from accessing their inner creativity."
